Scouters,
Our culture has come to a crossroads, one that will forever determine the path of our country and our society. Once the wrong path is chosen, it is unlikely that the Pandora’s Box of cultural moral decline will ever be closed again. History has shown that when a culture becomes morally corrupt, usually displayed in sexual promiscuity, the end of that culture is near. I do not have to recount examples; that truth is easily found in any reputable history book or Internet search. There is a major battle going on for the hearts and minds of our youth. As Melissa Harris-Perry recently said on MSNBC, “we have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents or kids belong to their families and recognize that kids belong to whole communities.” I know that Scouting has historically acknowledged such a statement as ludicrous. Raising a child is the parents’ responsibility first, and then any other group they feel can come alongside them to nurture what they are teaching their child – be that church, Scouting, sports, or other youth programs. The Progressives and Liberals in this country, emboldened by the stances of the current Administration, are launching an all-out war against traditional family values, God/religion (especially the one of the Bible), and anything that hints at historical norms of morality in this country.
The BSA must decide if it is going to bow to the voices of a few, loud, extreme minority folks, or continue in its tradition of being a place where boys learn how to become men – something that can only be done by men who act like men, and have the morals and values to stand up for truth. A belief or a value means nothing if it changes with the prevailing cultural winds. What if Scouting had taken up the ideas of Margaret Sanger and her ardent and vocal followers around the time she formed Planned Parenthood? Those ideas had a very strong following in certain, influential circles in that day, just as the homosexual lobby does today. Some examples are below, and you can extrapolate how these would have affected Scouting – leaders and youth.
“At a March 1925 international birth control gathering in New York City, a speaker warned of the menace posed by the ‘black’ and ‘yellow’ peril. The man was not a Nazi or Klansman; he was Dr. S. Adolphus Knopf, a member of Margaret Sanger’s American Birth Control League (ABCL), which along with other groups eventually became known as Planned Parenthood.1
On sterilization & racial purification:
“Sanger believed that, for the purpose of racial “purification,” couples should be rewarded who chose sterilization.”2
On the rights of the handicapped and mentally ill, and racial minorities: “More children from the fit, less from the unfit — that is the chief aim of birth control.”
On the extermination of blacks:
“We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population,” she said, “if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.”3
An old song I recently heard by Twila Paris has these lines:
“History marches on,
There is a bottom line drawn across the ages,
Culture can make its plan oh, but the line never changes,
No matter how the deception may fly”
The deception and reality of “homosexuality” needs to be highlighted and addressed:
- All major world religions are opposed to this type of behavior, and always have been. Any fringe of any of those religions that say it is okay does not have, or promote, an accurate picture of their religious writings (whether they be from the Bible, Koran, Book of Mormon, Torah, etc).
- Approximately 80% of Scout Troops are sponsored by ‘faith based’ institutions. Scout leaders have spoken to Baptist, Methodist and Church of Christ leaders and all are ‘adamantly opposed’ to the change. The LDS church has stated: they and their 431,000 youth members in Scouting, will leave if the change is approved to allow adult homosexual leaders.4
- Homosexuality is not a biological or hereditary condition – it is a human choice, one that in this culture of pervasive porn and sexuality (TV, movies, commercials, video games, magazines, & more), as well as the lack of a father and mother influence in a loving home, will only continue to be pushed and experimented with in the culture. Of the top 10 myths about homosexuality, this is #15
- The research does not show that anyone is “born gay,” and suggests instead that homosexuality results from a complex mix of developmental factors [just as many other personality traits develop]. The widespread, popular belief that science has proven a biological or genetic origin to homosexuality can be traced to the publicity which surrounded three [limited and flawed] studies published in the early 1990’s.
- Homosexually active people experience considerably higher levels of mental illness and substance abuse than heterosexuals. A detailed review of the research has shown that “no other group of comparable size in society experiences such intense and widespread pathology.”5
- Scouting’s current policy for adult leaders states, “The adult applicant must possess the moral, educational, and emotional qualities that the Boy Scouts of America deems necessary to afford positive leadership to youth.”
- Both because of high-risk behavior patterns, such as sexual promiscuity, and because of the harm to the body from specific sexual acts, homosexually active people are at greater risk than heterosexuals for sexually transmitted diseases and other forms of illness and injury.
- In 2009, a [homosexually oriented] newspaper reported, “Gay and bisexual men account for half of new HIV infections in the U.S. and have AIDS at a rate more than 50 times greater than other groups, according to Centers for Disease Control & Prevention data . . . ”6
- From the Scout Oath: “To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.”
- Homosexual couples acting as parents do not provide the most ideal situation for growing and developing kids.
- “An overwhelming body of social science research shows that children do best when raised by their own biological mother and father who are committed to one another in a lifelong marriage. Research specifically on children of homosexual couples has major methodological problems, but does show specific differences.”5
- Even boys being raised by single mothers generally exhibit many kinds of social and developmental problems due to the lack of a strong father figure in their lives. In many cases, Scouting can provide that father figure – but not if the male is living a homosexual lifestyle.
- Homosexually active people are more likely to molest children than heterosexuals.
- The reality is that most men who molest boys self-identify as homosexual or bisexual.5
- This has been played out across the Catholic Church for decades. By them choosing a requirement for their priests (single for life) that has no basis in the Scripture of the Bible, the situation created has been ripe for fostering the molestation of young boys and men. Even the BSA has had its own problems that have recently come out.
- A person who practices strictly heterosexual acts, whether based on his personal beliefs, religious beliefs, etc is going to be far less likely to ever even consider such conduct with a boy under his care. Scouting should be looking for Ward Cleaver, not Boy George.
- See much more alarming information on this at the end.
- Homosexual activists are using this situation with the BSA, specifically now, as another lever in the society while the current Supreme Court hears the marriage case.
- They have a clear agenda that has been openly stated. It is an agenda that demands the universal acceptance of homosexual acts and relationships–morally, socially, legally, religiously, politically, and financially. Indeed, it calls for not only acceptance, but affirmation and celebration of this behavior as normal, natural, and even as desirable for those who desire it.
- This leaves no room for objection – on any grounds – thus the continued attack on Scouting, Cathy Truitt of Chick-Fil-A fame, and others. But that is not a reason to cave.
- Scouting.org clearly states, “The Supreme Court of the United States affirmed the Boy Scouts of America’s right to set our own membership standards that the First Amendment guarantees the freedom of association. BSA’s right to establish and maintain its own membership standards consistent with its fundamental principles remains the law.” This should be the end of the discussion. It is known that at least two national board members (James Turley CEO of Ernst & Young, and Randall Stephenson, CEO of AT&T) went rogue and proposed this change in January. The BSA needs to clean house – no organization can stand if those in leadership are not in agreement with its policies from day one.
- Homosexual activity and public beliefs/agreement are not as widespread as the media and the activists would have the public believe.
-
- Overwhelmingly where the issue of homosexual marriage has been on the public ballot, it has been defeated – most famously in California (Prop 8). That is the entire reason this is being taken up by the Supreme Court. The homosexual activists could not stand that the “will of the people” did not agree with them, so their goal is to use the courts and pressure tactics to force their position. They also used fear, intimidation, and destruction of personal property before the vote, and after it went against their agenda – none of which are characteristics of Scouting.
- “In fact, an overwhelming majority of the population are exclusively heterosexual. However, … the number who have been exclusively homosexual on all three measures … found that 2.8% of the male, and 1.4% of the female, population identify themselves as gay, lesbian, or bisexual.”5
Problems with acceptance of the homosexual lobby’s position:
There are still many who realize the truth of the problems caused by a female Scout leader. It is sometimes an unavoidable necessity if there are no men for the role, but it should be a last resort. For an organization that is built around men and boys, a female filling the man’s role is difficult. Any person who has ever been at a Scout camp, no matter the length, knows that there are many obstacles to overcome if one of the leaders is a female. This is not anti-female in any way; it is simply accepting the truth about an organization designed around, and for, boys. Logistically it creates all kinds of problems for permanent camp facilities. At Boxwell, we had to physically label and block off an entire shower house for a single female assistant Scoutmaster, causing problems for the others in that area of camp. The older Scouts, and the Staff act like what they are in those situations – hormone-filled teenagers. The boys (and even the men) cannot simply be what they want and need to be because there is a “foreign” element in the environment of Scouting. That takes away from the program and the purpose of Scouting.
A man living a homosexual lifestyle has taken on a very specific aspect of a female – sexual desiring of males. If he is open about it, then the other Scouts and Scouters are going to demand (as they rightly should) the same special access limitations be applied to that man that are applied to a female in camp. How can they not? If they did not, it is guaranteed that the few parents that hold strong views on this, but initially choose to let their boys stay in Scouting, would demand those limitations.
Even the “scenarios” that the BSA had with the online survey merely touched on the havoc that a change in policy would face:
A gay male troop leader, along with another adult leader, is taking a group of boys on a camping trip following the youth protection guidelines of two-deep leadership. Is it acceptable or unacceptable for the gay adult leader to take adolescent boys on an overnight camping trip?
Bob is 15 years old, and the only openly gay Scout in a Boy Scout troop. Is it acceptable or unacceptable for the troop leader to allow Bob to tent with a heterosexual boy on an overnight camping trip?
If a compromise position is taken, there are more problems than if an all-or-nothing position is taken. From the online survey: “Different organizations that charter Boy Scout troops have different positions on the morality of homosexuality. Do you support or oppose allowing charter organizations to follow their own beliefs when selecting Boy Scout members and adult leaders, if that means there will be different standards from one organization to the next?”
Anyone who does not see the dangers and problems inherent in such a compromised position cannot be personally familiar with the BSA’s camping element. How do you put two different groups together – some with homosexual boys and/or leaders and some without? For a group that has chosen to deny membership based on homosexual beliefs, how can they be expected to go on a weekend camporee with their district if one of the groups has open homosexual leaders or Scouts? As a parent, that would simply not be an option. I am sure my sentiments echo across the country. You would most likely have a breakdown in the normal Scouting environment soon after implementation. As the BSA tried to implement this “mixed bag” compromise it eventually would end up with all of those opposed to this simply giving up, or setting up their own camping environments – which of course undermines the national power and effectiveness of Scouting. This would be no different than historical Christian church denominations that have completely split over this issue. One side chooses the clear teachings in the Bible while the other choose to reinterpret those same passages and try to make them irrelevant. There is no compromise for such an issue.
Finally, the most troubling aspect of this is that there are even more nefarious things going on in the homosexual world that never get the media attention nor light that they should. If they did, our culture would not be at this place today. If you are not aware of the North American Man/Boy Love Association (NAMBLA), you need to be! From their own website: “It was inspired by the success of a campaign based in Boston’s gay community to defend against a local witchhunt….Our membership is open to everyone sympathetic to man/boy love and personal freedom.”7
Now, some insight into the truth of this organization:
The founding of NAMBLA (1977-1978)
In December 1977, police raided a house in the Boston suburb of Revere. Twenty-four men were arrested and indicted on over 100 felony counts, including child pornography and statutory rape of boys aged eight to fifteen. Suffolk County District Attorney Garrett Byrne alleged that the men used drugs and video games to lure the boys into a house, where they photographed them as they engaged in sexual activity. Byrne accused the men of being members of a “sex ring,” and said that the arrest was only “the tip of the iceberg.” The arrests sparked intense media coverage, and local newspapers published the photographs and personal information of the accused men. Staff members of the homosexual newspaper Fag Rag believed the raid was politically motivated.8
Man/Boy Love and the American Gay Movement
The issue of man/boy love has intersected the gay movement since the late nineteenth century, with the rise of the first gay rights movement in Germany. In the United States, as the homosexual movement has retreated from its vision of sexual freedom for all in favor of integration into existing social and political structures, it has sought to marginalize cross-generational love as a “non-gay” issue. The two movements continue to overlap, amid signs of mutual support as well as tension – a state of affairs that also characterizes their interrelationship in other countries.9
Miscellaneous statements & statistics
Kevin Bishop, an admitted pederast (pedophile), is promoting the work of NAMBLA in South Africa. Bishop, who was molested at the age of six, is also an admitted homosexual who is blunt about the relationship between homosexuality and pedophilia. “Scratch the average homosexual and you will find a pedophile,” said Bishop in an interview with the Electronic Mail & Guardian.10
“The Gay Report,” published by homosexual researchers Jay and Young in 1979, revealed that 73 percent of homosexuals surveyed had at some time had sex with boys 16 to 19 years of age or younger.11
Although homosexuals account for less than two percent of the population, they constitute about a third of child molesters.12 Further, as noted by the Encino, Calif.-based National Association for research and Therapy of Homosexuality (NARTH), “since homosexual pedophiles victimize far more children than do heterosexual pedophiles, it is estimated that approximately 80 percent or pedophile victims are boys who have been molested by adult males. 13
How can anyone who is truly interested in the healthy development of boys even consider opening up their organization where this kind of influence can pour in? This is why the vast majority of the BSA’s current membership, and concerned citizens across the country, oppose changing the BSA’s stance. We know the truth – much of that I have attempted to highlight in this document. The BSA has to be willing to stand up against the onslaught of lies and misperceptions that will be thrown at it. If it does, and does so strongly, I fully believe the attack will eventually fade away. The homosexual lobby will look for another place to fight, some other group or organization they feel is vulnerable to their lies and assaults. First, the BSA has won the legal right to set its own standards, specifically based on a case involving this issue. That legal right should be exercised fully and not undermined from within by its own leadership. Second, even if the entire world goes the wrong way, it is still right to stand up for truth. Attacks may come, but at least there is an island of truth and safety for youth – something rapidly disappearing in our culture. It is no longer news that Cathy Truitt supports traditional marriage. I also do not believe anyone is concerned for the bottom line of Chick-Fil-A as a company – from all reports on the matter, people still eat there just as much as they did before.14
Final Thoughts
Why is it that people, groups, whatever can no longer agree to disagree and move on? If the homosexual lobby is so intent on having the BSA openly accept the homosexual lifestyle, why do they not start their own version of the BSA? Why does NAMBLA or some other pro-homosexual group not work to form such an organization? Instead, all you see these groups do is attack anyone or any group that disagrees with them. They attempt to force that person or group to change, to accept what they believe instead of what that person or group believes. Do we not still have the freedoms to choose and speak what we believe in this country? The reality of this situation should ring loud and clear – this is not about equality or anything like that. It is about finding any way they can to legitimize their sexual choices, and to stop anyone from openly disagreeing with them.
The simple reality of the situation is that this is a battle for the future of our children, our culture, and our country. Those who support this say it is a normal progression of society and that it is a personal right and that “homosexuals” are the last discriminated “group.” In reality, they are no identifiable group. The only thing that makes anyone practicing this lifestyle as part of a group is that their entire identity seems to be wrapped up in their sexual preferences – which is more often NOT exclusively homosexual – but has been heterosexual and bi-sexual at some point as well.
The homosexual lobby, and those that are sympathetic to its position, believe anyone opposed to this (or other “homosexual rights”) are simply on the wrong side of history and that one day we will look at our traditional attitudes toward homosexuals like we look at old attitudes toward blacks or our old attitudes toward women’s rights. They believe we will be embarrassed to see that we could have been so blind and bigoted for so long. People who choose a certain sexual lifestyle should not be elevated to the same position as an actual racial group – they should not be able to take on the mantle of black slaves, or the blacks suffering through Jim Crow laws and discrimination. Nor should they be able to put on the mantle of women from the time of the Suffrage battles and similar events. This is not a biological, racial, or cultural (meaning country or place of origin) group. These are simply people who have chosen to identify themselves, and fight against the culture, primarily based upon their sexual choices. And of all things, one might think that would be the least important part of a person. Of all that I am, my sexual feelings or desires in no way define me or even direct my daily thoughts and paths.
If the BSA allows those who define their lives by their sexual preference to change its position, then much of the core values of the BSA will have been cast aside.
On my honor,
I will do my duty,
To God and my country.
To obey the Scout Law,
To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake,
And morally straight.
(Scout Oath)
A Scout is:
Trustworthy,
Loyal,
Helpful,
Friendly,
Courteous,
Kind,
Obedient,
Cheerful,
Thrifty,
Brave,
Clean, and
Reverent
(Scout Law)
Softly falls the light of day, As our campfire fades away.
Silently each Scout should ask,”Have I done my daily task?
Have I kept my honor bright? Can I guiltless sleep tonight? Have I done and have I dared,
In everything to Be Prepared?”
(Scout Vespers)
As I wrote the words of the Scout Vespers above I was taken back to countless closing campfires, late at night, surrounded by men and boys with camaraderie never felt anywhere else. Something I hope many boys will be able to continue feeling – but one I know my son will never experience if the BSA makes a change to this policy.
As we closed at the end of all our Scout meetings:
May the Great Scoutmaster, of all good Scouts, be with you till we meet again.
Note: The usage of the word “homosexual” is not to be construed with acceptance of a person being “born” homosexual. It is merely used as a form of shorthand to refer to those practicing a homosexual lifestyle, or claiming to be homosexual by nature. The former is believed to be the truth, the latter is not.
Notes on the BSA’s proposed policy change and survey results:
Overall key findings that the Executive Committee considered to be critical to the development of a resolution:15
- Attitudes and opinions among Americans related to gay and lesbian relationships have changed rapidly over the past three years.
- While a majority of adults in the Scouting community support the BSA’s current policy of excluding open and avowed homosexuals, younger parents and teens tend to oppose the policy.
So a program that has been around for 103 years is considering changing a core policy, one at the heart of the conscience of the nation, based on supposedly rapidly changing attitudes and what youth believe? Is it not the role of the adults in society to teach youth what is right and wrong and best? Do we follow the whims of youth, especially those of today who are inundated with half-truths, 24/7 “breaking news” that is usually incorrect, always-on media input? If that is the plan, we can expect a further erosion of values and standards in this country.
Parents Study Group and Leaders Study Group 15
- The research finds a significant shift in attitudes regarding the BSA policy on homosexuality.
The BSA’s Voice of the Scout Membership Standards Survey was sent to more than 1 million adult members, with over 200,000 respondents. The survey found:
- Respondents support the current policy by a 61 percent to 34 percent margin.
- 72 percent of chartered organizations support it.
The numbers really do not show a “significant shift” in the attitudes. When over 1/5th of the adult members responded and 2/3rd of them support the current policy, that is a pretty strong vote. When 72 percent of the organizations that actually charter and support local Boy Scout troops support the current policy, that should signal significant ramifications if it is changed.
Local Council Study Group 15
Each Scouting region also provided a recommendation in support of or opposed to potential change:
- The Central Region recommends, on behalf of its 73 councils, no change to the policy.
- The Northeast Region recommends, on behalf of its 65 councils, to change the policy by excluding any reference to sexual preference as one of the criteria for membership for youth and adults.
- The Southern Region recommends, on behalf of its 90 councils, no change to the current policy.
- The recommendation of 51 percent of the Western Region councils is no change at this time. Several councils within the Western Region were unable to provide a recommendation. The position of the Western Region’s largest chartered organization, whose members make up more than half of the region’s total membership, is unknown at this time.
Of all of those who provided a recommendation, it is obvious that the largest regions with active Scouts support the current policy as it stands. It will not be surprising if the Western Region comes out with the same stance when the time comes. Even the one region that supports a change basically wants to adopt a “don’t ask, don’t tell” position. This is effectively what the Scouts do now in that they do not bring this issue up on a regular basis.
National Council Study Group 15
- Slightly more members of the Board and Advisory Council initially supported the current policy, but Board members reversed themselves to slightly opposing the current rules after responding to the scenarios.
- A majority of the Board does not consider the current policy to be core to Scouting’s values, while a majority of the Advisory Council does.
- A large majority of the respondents believe they can find a way to continue in Scouting whether or not the BSA’s decision agrees with their own views.
What we see here is that the Board, of which it is a few top members who are actually leading this charge, has set up a situation to make it look as if the values and morals of the country are changing. What this really says is that the Board needs to be cleaned and replaced. When the Advisory Council is stating that the current policy is core to Scouting’s values, they should be listened to. They are “United States citizens who, because of experience, have a particular expertise that would benefit the national movement.” The Advisory Council members are elected by the Board, and the Council advises “on matters of major national concern.”
Though the National Council Study Group respondents believe they “can find a way to continue in Scouting,” I believe that is not true of multitudes of Scouts and their parents. Without the Scouts, there is no need for a National Council.
Chartered Organization Study Group 15
They estimate a membership policy change that includes both youth and adults could cause the BSA to incur membership losses in a range from 100,000 to 350,000. It is believed any gain in membership because of a change to the membership policy related to youth and adults would be in the range of 10,000 to 20,000 youth.
So this policy change would cause a ten-fold disparity in those who would leave versus those who would come in new. There is really no logic that would look at this and say that the organization will be benefitted by this change. The BSA would suffer net losses of up to 330,000 members, out of a total of approximately 3.6 million. That is a significant hit at one time. But that is not the only significant hit that the BSA would incur.
Financing and Fundraising Study Group 15
- On average, councils indicate 51 percent of major donors do not support a policy change.
- A survey of alumni and the National Eagle Scout Association show that 54 percent support the current policy; 41 percent oppose it.
- Foundation and major donor groups are split regarding the BSA’s current membership policy. 15
This indicates that not only will the BSA lose members; it also runs the risk of losing significant funding sources. With Foundation and major donor groups split, their position is neutral – neither losing nor gaining funding with a policy change.
Youth Protection 15
All four experts were consistent in their findings and recommendations, including:
“The nearly universal opinion among sexual abuse authorities is that same-sex sexual interest or same-sex sexual experience, either in adults or youth, is NOT a risk factor for sexually abusing children.”
In regard to role modeling: “Most of the research on the effect on children of associating with self-identified homosexual adults has been done about homosexual parents. The clear conclusion from this research is that there appear to be no effects on children’s adjustment, mental health or sexual orientation.”
It is interesting that the four experts found this answer when it is contradictory to many other studies and reports showing that pedophilia, sexual abuse, and more are easily linked to deviant sexual behavior. Some of that was provided above with the information regarding NAMBLA. Much more can be found while researching. Another example is found in this recent article: “Study suggests risks from same-sex parenting:”
Using a “gold standard” data set of nearly 3,000 randomly selected American young adults, Mr. Regnerus looked at their lives on 40 measures of social, emotional and relationship outcomes.
He found that, when compared with adults raised in married, mother-father families, adults raised by lesbian mothers had negative outcomes in 24 of 40 categories, while adults raised by gay fathers had negative outcomes in 19 categories.
Findings like these contradict claims that there are no differences between gay parenting and heterosexual, married parents, said Mr. Regnerus, who helped develop the New Family Structures Study at the University of Texas.
Instead, “[C]hildren appear most apt to succeed well as adults when they spend their entire childhood with their married mother and father, and especially when the parents remain married to the present day,” he wrote. 16
National Youth-Serving Organizations 15
- Twenty-eight [of 30] want change and oppose the current BSA policy, one is neutral and somewhat opposes the policy, and one wants no change and supports the current policy.
- The main concern of the 28 organizations that want the BSA to change is that if the policy remains the same, national organizations cannot support the BSA, making it very difficult for those organizations to work/collaborate with the BSA because of the exclusion of youth and lack of diversity in the BSA.
The simple answer to this should be, “so what?” The BSA is its own organization and can stand alone to do what it does. No other youth organization does what the BSA does and the BSA does not need them. Regarding diversity, this is simply a redefining of what the word is. To say that the BSA is not diverse because it limits people who do not agree with a strict definition of sexual identify is ludicrous. Diversity is found in the people, the ethnic groups, religious backgrounds, etc – not in sexual identity.
Finally, if a person logically reads the full results of this survey, it is easy to see that the majority is opposed to any change in the current policy. The only groups that believe a policy change should occur are those most likely to not understand the full implications, nor have the full set of facts upon which to base their decision. Or they have an ulterior motive that is not in the best interest of youth or the BSA. Our society has become so “information heavy” that the skills for discerning truth from lies, of which they are overwhelming, are almost nonexistent. Few people today dig deep into an issue to truly understand what is driving it, the players involved, and the ways to deceive the public. Because of that, too many decisions are driven by emotion and what “feels” right.
The Bible spoke to this situation long ago in this way, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.” (Proverbs 16:25)

The In-Your-Face reality of the LGBT Movement – around the world
The truth of the LGBT situation as being nothing more than sexual promiscuity, chosen by the members practicing it, is easily shown by doing an internet search of images from “gay pride” marches or events. It is astounding that no matter where one looks around the world, the same theme comes across – unabashed sexuality on display. Heterosexuals do not have parades like this, so what makes it necessary for LGBT-practicing folks? If they are just like everyone else, except in who they choose to love, why is it that they seem to be unable to keep their clothes on, themselves respectable, or in any way keeping up the appearance of being normal? And these people wonder why there has been such a societal aversion to them and their actions worldwide?
The reality is that the vast majority seem to be nothing like the typical GLBT portrayed in mass media – in shows & movies like “Will & Grace,” “Glee,” “Brokeback Mountain,” and whatever other TV show or movie you may have seen. Now if one was to go look at more “indie” productions, or late-night cable movies, much of this reality will come out. But this is not what is displayed on CNN, MSNBC, or the others who want to show a slanted view. Just take a look at pictures below, grabbed in five minutes from a bing.com search. It looks more like a cross between a Trekkie & Star Wars convention, mixed with an adult video store clientele (warning, some mild nudity included to show the full truth):
